Job Description and Duties

The Senior Accounting Officer (Supervisor) will be directed by the Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor) at the Department of State Hospitals - Atascadero (ASH). The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties but not limited to:

• Direct and assist in complex research projects.
• Contacts fiscal unit to resolve errors and reconciling items.
• Oversees compliance as related to Department of State Hospitals, Department of Finance, and other outside control agencies as related to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Travel and Cashiering.
• Supervise Accounting Office staff.
• Assist in the preparation of year-end, financial statements, and other reports and reconciliations as needed.
• Oversees compliance of warrant distribution times as related to the various Bargaining Units.

Working Conditions

  • This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the department and is subject to change as business needs arise.
