Senior Accountant

Experienced Accounting professional with thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage, track, and report on fixed assets using Bloomberg fixed asset software, ensuring accuracy in data entry.
• Take ownership of month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of journal entries (P-card activity, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and sales) and monthly account reconciliations.
• Analyze balance sheet account variances and financial reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards.
• Oversee financial aspects of construction in progress (CIP) and vineyard development project spend, ensuring accurate allocation of costs to the appropriate projects. Proactively provide regular financial updates to project supervisors, driving informed decision-making and budget adherence.
• During the harvest season, independently manage all aspects of grape purchases and sales with external parties, including detailed tracking of tonnage, invoicing, and payment reconciliation.
• Preparation and timely filing of sales tax returns, ensuring compliance with all local regulations.
• Prepare and timely filing of all business property tax statements, ensuring compliance with all local regulations.
• Assist with all audit related activities, including our annual financial statement audit, and other compliance audits as needed
• Investigate all customer chargeback claims, working closely with the hospitality team to obtain supporting evidence.
• Manage the distribution of month-end financial reports to all departments.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with 3-5 years related experience.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and relevant standards.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel including the use of pivot tables, Vlookups, etc.
• Experience with AMS and Bloomberg fixed asset software preferred.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks meet assigned deadlines.
• Proven ability to analyze complex issues, implement effective solutions, and adapt to changing priorities and work environments.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment while also possessing the self-direction and initiative to excel independently.
• Commitment to excellence and high standards, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in an office environment in a cubicle type setting, so noise levels will vary throughout the day, and on occasion can become moderate.
