Location : In Field: Chico, CA.
Location Status : Work will be primarily performed at a designated field worksite location based out of a central Race Communications worksite. Occasional travel to and work from other Race offices or other off-site locations may be required.

Summary:
As an Outside Sales Lead at Race Communications, you will drive sales growth and lead a team of outside sales representatives. Reporting to the Outside Sales Supervisor, you will provide training, coaching, and mentorship, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment. Your role involves engaging in sales outreach, building customer relationships, and promoting our fiber optic internet, phone, and television services. You will use your product knowledge and customer service skills to provide accurate information and maintain detailed records. Participation in sales campaigns and events requires travel in your market, with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
• Eligibility for US Employment without sponsorship
• Minimum of 18 years of age
• A valid driver's license, subject to successful verification through a DMV check, is mandatory
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
• Minimum of two years of experience in sales, outside sales preferably within the telecom sector, or a related field, with equivalent work experience in customer-facing roles required
• Minimum of one year of experience in sales, outside sales, or a related field, with equivalent work experience in customer-facing roles required
• Minimum of one year of experience managing a team required
• Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce and Sales Rabbit)
• Demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding goals
• Ability to travel moderate distances daily by both car and foot to meet with clients and prospects
• Willingness to participate and occasionally travel to attend sales and marketing events
• Ability to travel to multiple work sites, work overtime, weekends, holidays, or off hours as needed
• The ability to effectively communicate in English, including speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension, as necessary for effective job performance and workplace communication
• Bilingual communication skills are considered a plus, particularly when serving diverse communities
Skills:
• Proficient use of MS Office applications including Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; teleconferencing applications
• Functional use of common office equipment, computers, and office software
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Sales Team Leadership and Support:
• Under the direction of the Outside Sales Supervisor, helps support the outside sales representatives team
• Provides ongoing training, coaching, and mentoring for local team of outside sales representatives
• Foster a positive and collaborative team environment to maximize productivity and morale
• Leads by example and follows guidelines and policies outlined in the Race Communications Employee Handbook
Compliance and Ethics:
• Ensures compliance with all company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards
• Promotes a culture of integrity and accountability within the sales team
• Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to data protection policies
Sales Outreach and Customer Engagement:
• Sources new sales opportunities through door-to-door education of Race fiber optic internet, phone, and television services
• Identifies, assesses, and understands customer needs and requirements to achieve customer satisfaction
• Identifies potential sales opportunities, and generates interest and sales opportunities
• Builds relationships and trust with customers through open and interactive communication (listening)
Product Knowledge and Customer Service:
• Gains and retains extensive product knowledge as well as detailed comprehension of customer's requirements for Race fiber optic internet, phone, and television products
• Provides accurate, valid, and complete information when using our CRM and other software as provided
Documentation and Compliance:
• Keeps detailed records of customer interactions, processes customer accounts
Sales Campaigns and Events:
• Participates in sales and marketing campaigns and attends outside events (travel required)
Vehicle Maintenance and Travel:
• Maintains vehicle/equipment pre-op/post-op to be prepared to perform required duties
• Maintains a clean driving record as defined by the current fleet insurance underwriter
• Observes hazards and reports any concerns or accidents to a supervisor or safety professional; participates in the investigation process as needed
• Travels to multiple service locations across California and occasionally beyond, including during adverse weather conditions, while adhering strictly to safety protocols
• Commutes extensively by vehicle daily, both indoors and outdoors, to visit Race clients’ businesses and/or residences
• Flexibility to work overtime, including nights and weekends, as necessary

• Adheres to safety protocols and guidelines outlined in the Race employee handbook and job description to promote a safe work environment
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Adheres to team procedures and guidelines, as well as policies outlined in the Race Communications Employee Handbook.
• Provides support in identifying training needs and supports professional development initiatives to enhance team skills and performance. Helps onboard and mentor new team members to ensure they are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to perform their roles safely and effectively.
• Provides support to team members on various team matters, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and applicable laws.
• Collaborates with team members to maintain a positive work environment by fostering open communication, addressing minor conflicts, and escalating issues as needed.
• Helps ensure team members have the tools and resources needed to succeed, assisting in tracking progress toward goals and providing status updates as requested.
• Assists in maintaining compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, ensuring team alignment with organizational standards.
• This role does not have direct supervisory responsibilities. The Lead may assist in tasks related to supervision on behalf of the reporting supervisor or manager on duty, such as coordinating task assignments, timing of shift breaks, validating mid-level transactions, and escalating disciplinary and performance matters.
