Writing and Editing Communications Specialist

Here, you'll advance your consulting skills to write, edit, and consult on a variety of internal and external communication materials and media that supports the Department of Defense and military clients.
We seek a Writer and Editor to join our growing team. As a member of our team, you'll embark on an exciting journey to write, produce, and consult on a variety of internal and external communications materials. You will apply your advanced writing and editorial experience as you engage with digital communications for primarily government clients. You'll apply your strong writing skillset as you work with a highly collaborative multimedia production team to bring fresh and innovative solutions to the customer. You'll tell exceptional stories as we solve problems of various complexity.

You Have:
- 5+ years of experience copyediting documentation to correct grammar and improve storyline
- 5+ years of experience producing programmatic communication materials, including briefing slides, proposals, and fact sheets
- 5+ years of experience using Microsoft Office Suite programs, including Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
- Experience with Associated Press Style Manual
- Ability to learn and apply DoD Style Manuals
- Ability to present work samples that showcase compelling storylines written by you such as articles, documents, press releases, or web content
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, or Marketing
Nice If You Have:
- Experience collaborating with key stakeholders, including program and executive leadership, engineers, marketing peers, and external media partners
- Experience collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to understand requirements, analyze user needs, and draft effective content
- Experience working alongside a multimedia design team to collaboratively produce impactful communication deliverables
- Experience working in science or engineering environments, and graphic design or multimedia production environments
- Ability to tell a great story, pay strong attention to quality and detail, intake information, and assist strategic planning
- Ability to effectively converse with technical teams and obtain relevant information
- Ability to edit existing Microsoft Word templates, format, and fix bugs, and build original Microsoft Word templates
- Ability to work well in a dynamic fast-paced environment as part of an Agile team
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- Secret clearance

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $52,100.00 to $119,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.Work Model Our people-first culture prioritizes the benefits of flexibility and collaboration, whether that happens in person or remotely.
