Job Description

• Prepare technical design and develop telematics product features using Java/J2EE and Database related technologies
• Work collaboratively with product management teams to translate telematics feature specifications into high-quality, timely deliverables as a strong hands-on technical member in telematics product development activities
• Develop service and client-side code and database scripts that can support high-volume transactions
• Produce clean, unit-tested, and refactored code when required
• Actively analyze and troubleshoot any issues that arise in production and design and develop solutions to fix the reported defects and stabilize the new products into Production
• Analyze and report the production issue and ticket trend and provide recommendations
• Analyze current technology utilized and develop steps and processes to improve and expand upon them
• Production issue triage and tracking, troubleshooting activities, ticket creation and maintenance, ticket assignments, as well as vendor follow-up
• Working with the appropriate internal and external stakeholders to satisfy customer requests and provide resolution strategies for incoming issues
• Identify root causes of technical issues in production and out of box failures and come up with the RCA document. Coordinate root cause analysis, problem management, and facilitation of recurring problem management meetings with management stakeholders, trend analysis, and strategic resolution
• Maintain knowledge and technical expertise of current production system, best practices tools and techniques and implement them in a reasonable and responsible manner
• Identify issues and risks as they relate to the Issue/Incident Management program and take escalation actions as necessary
• Interact with project teams for new products development giving insights from technical issues of previous products

Salary: $100,000/yr to $140,000/yr

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, or a relevant field
• 7+ years of experience in development and design with Java, J2EE and database technologies, with a minimum of 2 years in a similar role supporting and interfacing with management

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of 4 years of recent experience in Java and J2EE technologies
• Experience in J2EE technologies like Spring framework, iBatis/MyBatis or similar ORM framework, REST/SOAP Web Services, Java design patterns, MVC, JMS and Servlets
• Hands on experience in databases like Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL. Capable of writing complex DB queries and performing SQL analysis and tuning preferred
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) concepts
• Proficient in deploying applications on J2EE Web/Application servers like JBoss, WebLogic and Tomcat preferred
• Production incident and issue management experience with strong problem solving and root cause analysis background is required
• Experience working on complex technical projects in a multi-vendor project environment
• Experienced in coordinating with other stakeholders and getting the job done
• Self-driven in completing the task with less/no supervision
• Flexible in working mode between development and support applications
• Ability to work as a team and display excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to multi-task and maintain composure

NICE TO HAVE:

• Knowledge of SOA vs micro services and their appropriate application is desired
• Able to learn, or have pre-existing knowledge of, basic connected car architecture including systems integration, interface details, in-vehicle services/functions in order to understand the platform and environment for effective triage and troubleshooting capabilities
• Experience writing & maintaining functional and technical designs documents using either UML or EA
• Experience in Jenkins, JIRA, Eclipse, Git, Bitbucket, Unix
• Front end technology knowledge like web based and smart phone-based applications
• Knowledge of SSL/TLS certificate related technologies
• Good understanding of networking protocols is a plus
