Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our precision machinist client. The ideal candidate will have experience setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC mills and/or lathes while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. This role requires attention to detail, a strong understanding of machining principles, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, or multi-axis equipment) to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications to ensure accurate machining processes.
• Perform first article inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.).
• Make necessary adjustments to machine offsets, tooling, and feed rates to maintain dimensional accuracy and product quality.
• Troubleshoot machining issues, including tool wear, surface finish, and tolerances.
• Conduct routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of CNC machines.
• Collaborate with engineers, quality inspectors, and production supervisors to optimize machining processes.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: 2-5 years of experience in CNC machining, preferably in aerospace, medical, automotive, or high-precision manufacturing.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in G-code programming, blueprint reading, and GD&T. Experience with Fanuc, Haas, or Siemens controls is a plus.
• Quality Focus: Knowledge of precision measuring tools and inspection techniques. Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, or other industry standards is a plus.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and correct machining issues with minimal supervision.
• Attention to Detail: Commitment to producing high-quality components with tight tolerances.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a machine shop environment with exposure to noise, oils, and coolants.
• Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. in compliance with federal and California employment laws.
