System/Test Engineer - R25-0143

USI/Asteelflash is actively looking for a highly skilled Test Engineer to join our team here in Milpitas, CA. Your primary role will be to perform assigned test engineering duties involving test development, assist production test with failure troubleshooting and program/fixture maintenance research of test quality issues. Interfaces with manufacturing and engineering during the development, installation and maintenance of improved manufacturing methods and controls.

Responsibilities:

• Engages in regular interpersonal contacts to solve problems in a technical or professional area.
• Assists production test with problems as required including quality, test procedures/programs, fixtures and equipment.
• Assists in the preparation of test cost data and time estimates to be used in price computation.
• Reviews relevant paperwork to include engineering change notices, discrepant material report, and other status reports.
• Seeks improvement in current test methods to improve operating efficiency and reduce costs. Prepares periodic reports and special reports as required.
• Creates/updates work instructions used within the department and the manufacturing areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
• Orders test tooling.
• Has responsibility for process monitoring and improvement.
• Shares training responsibility for new operators and technicians.

Requirements:

Education

• Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent and thorough knowledge of electronic and electro-mechanical devices

Experience

• 2-5 years related experience

Technical Skills/Competencies

• Knowledge of bed-of-nails test fixtures
• Understanding how ICT checks resistors, capacitors, inductors, diodes, transistors, and ICS (non-powered)
• Experience using ICT platforms (Keysight (Agilent) 3070, Teradyne Teststation, SPEA)
• Operating, maintaining, and calibrating test fixtures and probes
• Creating and debugging ICT test programs
• Tools: Keysight ICT software, Teradyne TPS (Test Program Set), etc.
• Experience with CAD data import and netlist handling
• Test coverage analysis
• Ability to read schematics, BOMS, and PCB layout files
• PCB assembly test processes
• Engineering techniques and methods

This position will be 100% onsite. The expected base salary range for this position, if filled in California, is $100,000-$120,000 annually, dependent on specific skills and work experience. Apply now!
