Position Summary:
The Financial Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the integrity of financial data. This role involves managing day-to-day accounting functions, reconciling bank statements, processing payroll, and preparing financial reports in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and other financial statements to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain general ledger and ensure compliance with accounting principles.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Process accounts payable and receivable in a timely manner.
- Assist with payroll processing and maintain payroll records.
- Monitor company expenditures and help prepare budgets.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
- Support external audits and prepare necessary documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all financial data.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping practices and accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with integrity.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in healthcare, non-profit, or service-based industries.
- Knowledge of payroll systems and tax filing requirements.
- Familiarity with budgeting and financial forecasting.
Compensation: $27.00 per hour
