Full-Time Family Assistant - Rancho Santa Fe, CA

A private family in Rancho Santa Fe, CA is seeking a Full-Time Family Assistant to support household operations and provide light childcare in a semi-formal home environment .

This is a live-out position with a primary focus on housekeeping and home organization , along with limited daily childcare support for a 2-year-old. The ideal candidate is professional, calm, efficient, and respectful of boundaries, with the ability to maintain a well-run home without being intrusive.

Job Description

Household Responsibilities (Primary Focus)

• Perform daily housekeeping (approximately 6 hours/day) including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining all areas of the home

• Manage laundry with care , including proper washing, steaming (no ironing), folding, and organization

• Make beds to a high standard, including evening turndown service

• Maintain a clean, orderly, and polished household environment

• Work efficiently and proactively to keep the home running smoothly

Childcare Responsibilities (Secondary)

• Provide 1–2 hours of childcare daily for a 2-year-old

• Some days may involve housekeeping only with no childcare required

• Ensure a safe, calm, and supportive environment

Additional Duties

• Prepare simple meals primarily for the child

• Assist with serving food when needed

• Handle occasional errands and shopping

• Support with light family assistance and household needs

• Assist with table service or small gatherings as needed

The ideal candidate is physically capable, highly organized, and able to move efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.

Qualifications include:

• Prior experience as a Family Assistant, Housekeeper, or Nanny/Family Assistant hybrid

• Strong housekeeping and laundry skills with attention to detail

• Comfortable providing light childcare support

• Professional, calm, and non-intrusive demeanor

• Physically fit and able to work efficiently and move quickly

• Mus t be able to swim (home has a swimming pool; required for childcare safety )

• Valid driver’s license with ability to assist with errands

• Ideally holds a valid passport and is open to occasional travel with the family

• Flexible, dependable, and respectful of household privacy

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 11:30 AM / 12:00 PM – 7:30 / 8:00 PM

• Compensation: $25–$40/hour (DOE)
