About the opportunity
It’s an exciting time to join Sydecar! We’re seeking full stack Senior Software Engineers who are passionate about creating impactful solutions and excited to explore the fintech landscape. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of our software applications while mentoring junior engineers. Internal Tooling/Platform Team : Help shape the tools that are essential to our Customer Experience, Finance, and Engineering teams, ensuring that Sydecar deals flow smoothly and efficiently across the organization.
Our Tech Stack
Frontend: TypeScript and React in a Mono-Repo structure
Backend: TypeScript, using NestJS and Prisma
Database: PostgreSQL
Testing & Code Quality: Jest and linted / auto-formatted with ESLint / prettier
Design: Wireframes and prototypes crafted in Figma
Infrastructure: Maintained as Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
What you'll be doing
Design and build multi-part solutions to story tasks, taking into account risk mitigation and advanced testing processes, including building tests using React Testing Library and Playwright
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, quality assurance, and technical support to deliver high-quality software products
Lead and mentor junior engineers in the design, development, and testing of software applications
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices
What we're looking for
At least 5 years of software engineering experience, ideally working on a similar tech stack to Sydecar
Strong experience with TypeScript
A strong interest in building both front-end and back-end systems as a full stack engineer
Experience writing unit and E2E tests
Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to foster collaboration across teams and support the growth of junior engineers
Great analytical and problem solving skills, with a knack for debugging tricky issues and coming up with creative solutions
It’s just a bonus if you have
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git
Knowledge of cloud-based technologies such as GCP
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins or Docker
Prior experience working in Fintech

This is a hybrid role based in our San Francisco office, with in-office attendance required two days per week.
Sydecar’s compensation package includes equity for all full time roles and exceptional benefits. Our Total Cash Compensation range for this role is: $160,000 - $209,000.
The Total Cash Compensation range listed for this position is an estimate based on market data and internal benchmarking and does not guarantee a specific salary at the time of hire. Actual compensation may vary depending on experience, qualifications, and other factors.
