Job Description and Duties
Under the direction of the Lieutenant, the Maintenance Worker is responsible for janitorial and maintenance related duties, maintains overall cleanliness of the Area and Laytonville Resident Post facilities and equipment, performs routine facility maintenance and repairs, performs landscape maintenance, and acts as an assistant to the Automotive Technician on a limited basis for the Garberville Area office.

The CHP utilizes their own Maintenance Worker certification list. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications for the Maintenance Worker classification to be eligible to take the examination. To obtain certification list eligibility, please view the examination bulletin link at and follow all instructions. In addition to applying for the examination, applicants MUST submit an application to this Job Control in order to be considered for the position.
