Systems Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities

• Serve on the systems engineering team and interact with electrical, mechanical, and firmware engineers to achieve verification goals.
• Lead system verification, validation planning and execution, reliability plan, testing and analysis, and integration planning.
• Act as a leader of technical excellence and participate as an agent for continuous improvement within the Systems Engineering function.
• Identify tasks/resources and ensure critical project milestones are met.
• Perform systems integration activities, including reliability testing and statistical data analysis.
• Utilize cross-functional knowledge to resolve technical challenges, drive issues to closure, and retire technical risks necessary for new product introduction.
• Apply Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) best practices.

Experience Required

• At least 5 years of related work experience required (a combination of work experience and advanced degrees).
• Extensive experience implementing Systems Engineering best practices.
• Experience with Systems Engineering and requirements management.
• Experience with Reliability Engineering and statistical analysis.
• Familiarity with systems integration and testing, Project Management, and Failure Modes Effects Analysis.
• LabView and test automation experience is desirable.

Skills & Certifications

• Proficient knowledge of Reliability & Verification Engineering.
• Intimate knowledge of the product development lifecycle from concept through launch.
• Efficiency in leading system verification, validation planning and execution, reliability plan, testing and analysis, and integration planning.
• Strong technical background within Systems Engineering, medical device development, or similar.
• DFSS knowledge and experience or statistical test design and analysis knowledge.
• Ability to use, view, and understand CAD tools (OrCad, Solidworks, Cadence) is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence across disciplines (interdepartmental, cross-functional).
• Very strong writing skills.

Eligibilities & qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering; a postgraduate degree is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Familiarity with systems integration and testing, Project Management, and Failure Modes Effects Analysis.
