Collections Administrator

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Collections Administrator to support our accounts receivable and payment collection efforts. This role is responsible for managing customer accounts, processing payments, following up on past due balances, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate is organized, professional on the phone, and comfortable handling sensitive financial conversations with customers. This position may be fully remote or hybrid, depending on candidate location and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and monitor assigned customer accounts for timely payment
• Perform outbound and inbound collections calls in a professional and respectful manner
• Apply payments accurately and resolve discrepancies or unapplied balances
• Send statements, reminders, and follow up communications regarding past due accounts
• Work with internal teams to research billing issues and resolve account disputes
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of collection activity and payment history
• Escalate delinquent accounts as appropriate according to company policy
• Assist with month end accounts receivable reporting as needed
• Maintain confidentiality of customer and financial information at all times

Requirements

• 1 to 3 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or a related administrative role
• Strong communication skills, especially over the phone
• Ability to handle difficult conversations calmly and professionally
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Comfortable working with accounting or ERP systems and basic office software
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with high volume collections
• Familiarity with payment processing platforms
• Prior experience working in a remote role
