California SLP Job Details

• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel contract for Speech-Language Pathologist)
• Healthcare Setting: Adult Home Health
• Location: Burlingame, CA (serving San Francisco, San Mateo, Marin, and possible San Jose/Campbell areas)
• Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 09/15/2025 – End: 12/15/2025)
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (5x8-hour days, 40 hours/week)
• Productivity: 30 points/week (average 5–6 adult patients/day)
• Mileage: Travel up to 75 miles from home clinic; reimbursed at IRS standard rate (from patient home to patient home)
• Guaranteed Hours: Not guaranteed; opportunity to float to nearby clinics if census is low
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2640 - $2710

Speech-Language Pathologist Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent adult home health SLP experience (first-time travelers not accepted)
• Active California SLP license (must be in hand prior to start date)
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Proficiency with HomeCare HomeBase EMR (recent experience or retraining required)
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and agency-required liability insurance
• Comfortable driving up to 75 miles/day and managing a flexible patient schedule
• Ability to complete clinical documentation within 24 hours of each patient visit
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations (varies by location)

SLP Home Health Responsibilities

• Conduct home visits for adult patients, including Start of Care and Follow-Up assessments
• Deliver evidence-based speech-language therapy and rehabilitation services
• Travel between patient homes and attend periodic office meetings
• Complete all required clinical documentation accurately and within 24 hours
• Maintain productivity standards (30 points/week)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Participate in on-call rotations as needed
• Adhere to agency policies and uphold professional standards of care
