CLOUD ENGINEER (Norco)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer with Secret Clearance to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure and services, ensuring they meet the operational and security needs of our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and a deep understanding of security best practices. This role offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical projects for both government and private sector clients.

Responsibilities:

• Cloud Architecture : Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure solutions based on client requirements, industry best practices, and security guidelines
• Security & Compliance : Ensure cloud environments adhere to security standards, including encryption, identity management, and access control, in compliance with government and regulatory policies
• Automation & Optimization : Develop automated workflows and scripts to streamline cloud operations. Optimize cloud resources for cost efficiency and performance
• Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, network engineers, and security professionals to integrate cloud solutions seamlessly into existing infrastructures
• Troubleshooting & Support : Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for cloud-based systems, resolving issues quickly and efficiently
• Documentation & Reporting : Create and maintain documentation related to cloud architecture, processes, and security measures. Regularly report on cloud performance, incidents, and improvements
• Continuous Learning : Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in cloud technologies and cybersecurity practices

Basic Qualifications

• Clearance : Must hold a current, active Secret Clearance .
• Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• If applicable: If you are or have been recently employed by the U.S. government, a post-employment ethics letter will be required if employment with VSolvit is offered

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in cloud engineering and administration
• Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or similar)
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) , Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) , and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)
• Strong understanding of cloud security practices , including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and compliance
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes)

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency with Linux/Unix and Windows Server environments
• Experience with automation and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
• Familiarity with networking protocols and firewall management in a cloud environment
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications (Preferred but not required):
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect
• Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
