Indirect Procurement Manager
Radiant is an El-Segundo, CA-based clean energy startup building a nuclear microreactor. A climate-friendly alternative to diesel generators, Radiant's Kaleidos 1MW microreactor will be the world's first portable, zero-emissions power source that works anywhere. We plan to test our development reactor by 2026 and if successful, it will be the first new commercial reactor design to achieve a fueled test in over 50 years. Radiant's goal is to bring one of the world's first factory-constructed microreactors to market. Our microreactor can bring power to remote parts of the world and provide backup power for life-saving applications in hospitals or disaster-relief scenarios.
Radiant is seeking a proactive and strategic Indirect Procurement Manager to lead the sourcing, negotiation, and management of all goods and services for the indirect categories. This role is crucial in building and maintaining a resilient, cost-effective, and reliable supply base. You will be responsible for a wide range of categories, including Facilities, IT, Professional Services, MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations), consumables, and complex R&D collaborations. You will work closely with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Production members to ensure our partners and suppliers meet Radiant’s stringent technical, quality, and commercial requirements. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses expert negotiation skills, and understands the complexities of sourcing specialized services within regulated industries.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing & Category Management: Develop and execute sourcing strategies for key indirect categories. This includes IT (hardware, software, SaaS), Professional Services (consulting, legal, engineering), MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations), consumables, and R&D collaborations. Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on total cost of ownership, quality, reliability, and strategic fit.

Additional focus includes negotiating favorable commercial and intellectual property terms with specialized external service providers, including national laboratories (e.g., Idaho National Laboratory), university research labs, and other advanced technical services.
- Facilities & MRO Procurement: Take full ownership of procurement for all facility-related needs. This includes sourcing and managing contracts for building maintenance, repairs, capital equipment, security services, janitorial, waste management, utilities, and supporting small-scale construction and lab build-out projects.
- Contract Management: Develop, review, and manage the full lifecycle of supplier agreements, including Master Supply Agreements (MSAs), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), and Purchase Order terms and conditions, ensuring compliance and mitigating risk.
- Purchase Order Management: Oversee the complete procure-to-pay lifecycle, from requisition review and PO placement to tracking and closure, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
- Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Build and maintain strong commercial relationships with key indirect suppliers, acting as the primary point of contact for contractual and commercial matters and conducting regular business reviews to drive performance.
- Cost Analysis & Optimization: Analyze market trends and total cost of ownership to identify and execute on cost-saving opportunities across all indirect spend categories.
- Risk Management: Assess and mitigate supply chain risks related to indirect procurement, including supplier financial health, service level failures, and data security.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work seamlessly with internal stakeholders across all departments to understand their requirements, resolve supply issues, and support company-wide program timelines.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to the development and refinement of procurement policies, procedures, and systems to enhance efficiency, compliance, and control.
Key Deliverables:
- Successfully negotiated contracts and favorable terms with critical service providers, labs, and facilities vendors.
- Demonstrated total cost of ownership (TCO) savings and cost avoidance through effective negotiation and strategic sourcing.
- A managed portfolio of purchase orders ensuring on-time delivery and service level agreement adherence.
- Comprehensive supplier performance reports focusing on commercial, delivery, and quality metrics for executives and senior management.
- Effective mitigation plans for identified supply chain risks.
- Streamlined and compliant procurement processes that support Radiant's Quality Assurance Plan and growing strategic needs.
