Accounting Specialist- Hybrid

A growing company in the Carlsbad, CA area is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist for a temp-to-hire opportunity. This hybrid Accounting Specialist role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys supporting daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and contributing to process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

- Record daily accounting transactions and maintain accurate financial documentation.
- Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, invoice processing, and vendor account maintenance.
- Perform data entry, journal entries, bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and general ledger updates.
- Prepare Excel reports, financial records, and documentation for management review.
- Assist with month-end close activities, variance tracking, and internal reporting support.
- Maintain confidentiality, follow accounting policies, and help identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows.
- Support daily accounting operations across bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger activity.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reports, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end close, variance tracking, reporting support, and accounting process improvements.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay: $26 to $30 per hour, depending on experience.
- Job type: Temp-to-hire.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday.

Additional Skills

Required Qualifications and Skills

- 3 to 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger support required.
- Proficiency with accounting software required.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
- High attention to detail with strong accuracy in data entry, reporting, and financial documentation.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow established accounting policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or Great Plains strongly preferred.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Experience contributing to accounting process improvements or workflow efficiencies preferred.
