**Job Title: Grinder Operator** **Job Description** As a Grinder Operator, you will be responsible for identifying surface defects on forged parts through surface inspection. You will remove these defects using powered hand grinders, cutting burrs, polishers, and cut-off wheels. Your role includes using calipers and tape measures effectively to ensure precision. Maintaining the integrity of the forged part by removing flash extension and blending in cracks without creating void spaces is crucial. You will also keep the work area clean and safe, contribute to continuous improvement efforts, and maintain compliance with all company procedures and safety requirements. **Responsibilities** + Identify surface defects on forged parts via surface inspection. + Remove surface defects using powered hand grinders, cutting burrs, polishers, and cut-off wheels. + Use calipers and tape measures effectively. + Remove flash extension and maintain the integrity of the forged part. + Blend in cracks that have been removed to prevent void spaces. + Keep the work area clean and safe. + Contribute to continuous improvement efforts. + Communicate and participate as a team member in a One Team. One Direction. manner. + Maintain compliance with all company procedures and safety requirements. + Perform all other duties assigned by the supervisor, provided they are reasonable. **Essential Skills** + Experience with grinders, grinding, polishing, and deburring. + Familiarity with the manufacturing industry and environment. + Ability to operate hand grinders and work effectively in a manufacturing environment. + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. + High school diploma or equivalent. + Ability to communicate well and read/follow directions in English. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in general labor and production helper roles in manufacturing. **Why Work Here?** This position offers a contract-to-hire opportunity within the manufacturing industry. The position operates on a 1st Shift from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm, with the possibility of starting as early as 4:00 am. There is also potential for working a 2nd shift in the future. Initial phone screenings are conducted Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 8:30 am. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fontana, California. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
