Assistant FRC Robotics Coach

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re looking for assistant coaches/mentors to support our FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) program. Candidates would work alongside the Head Coach and other mentors to guide high school students through engineering, design, fabrication, programming, testing, and competition activities.

WHAT YOU BRING

Preferred Experience

• Mechanical design/CAD and fabrication

• Electrical systems

• Programming/software/controls

• FRC or other competitive robotics experience

• Engineering or other relevant technical experience

• Mentoring, coaching, or working with high school students

SCHEDULE

Availability for some weekday afternoon/evening practices and Saturdays is preferred, with additional availability during the January-April build and competition season. Exact schedules and responsibilities can be coordinated based on experience and availability. This is a part-time position scheduled to work less than 20 hours per week.

COMPENSATION

This is a non-exempt position with a base compensation of $18.50 - $24.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

ABOUT HARVARD-WESTLAKE

Harvard-Westlake is an independent school with two campuses in Los Angeles and approximately 1,600 students enrolled in grades 7–12. Classes for grades 7–9 take place on the Middle School campus in the Holmby Hills neighborhood, while grades 10–12 are housed on the Upper School campus in Studio City. A third campus, River Park, focused on athletics and recreation, is scheduled to open in Fall 2026.
