Manager, Product Management – Enterprise Model Platform

Product Management at Capital One is a booming, vibrant craft that requires reimagining the status quo, finding value creation opportunities, and driving innovative and sustainable customer experiences through technology. We believe our portfolio of businesses and investments in growth and transformation will result in a company with the scale, brand, capabilities, talent, and values to succeed as the digital revolution transforms our society and our industry.

About the Team:

At Capital One, we don’t think like a bank. We’re on a mission to change banking for good by using technology to bring ingenuity, simplicity, and humanity to banking. Machine learning is at the heart of our approach, and the Enterprise Model Platform (EMP) team is the engine that powers this transformation. We are seeking a Product Manager to join the fast-paced, dynamic team responsible for Notebooks, the company's largest internal platform for data analysis, model development, and AI experimentation. Serving over 8,000 data scientists, engineers, and analysts, the Notebooks platform provides a versatile and powerful environment for everything from data exploration and ETL to iterative model training and deployment. By building the tools that unlock the power of AI, our team plays a central role in creating individualized, real-time experiences that improve the financial lives of millions of customers.

About the Role:

This Manager-level Product Manager for EMP Notebooks will own the product lifecycle for operational improvements and feature delivery, acting as the primary advocate for our 8,000+ users. You will be tasked with transforming user feedback and market opportunities into a clear product roadmap that drives efficiency and innovation. This role requires a dynamic leader who can partner closely with engineering and senior management to not only "keep the lights on" but also to push the envelope by integrating cutting-edge AI capabilities into the platform. Success in this role means taking extreme ownership to solve user pain points and shipping features that make our internal teams more effective and innovative.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Championing the User: Lead the user communications strategy, conduct ongoing surveys, and synthesize feedback to address critical pain points through a steady cadence of feature delivery.

  • Driving Platform Excellence: Enhance platform efficiency and performance by creating robust user analytics dashboards, managing intake requests, and partnering with tech teams on compliance and modernization efforts.

  • Leading Innovation: Work with senior leadership to define and launch innovative features, including new AI-driven capabilities, and conduct competitive analysis to identify new opportunities for the platform.

  • Executing with Precision: Manage the tactical delivery of the product roadmap, from grooming the backlog in PI Planning to ensuring Knowledge Base resources are current and user office hours are effective.

The Ideal Candidate:

You are passionate about technology and have a genuine understanding of the challenges faced by engineers, data scientists, and analysts. You enjoy finding ways to make complex processes simpler and are not afraid to dive into the technical details of how our systems connect and deploy. As a strong communicator, you can effectively lead discussions with everyone from our technical teams to senior leadership. You stay current with the latest tools and trends in data, machine learning, and AI, and you are a vocal supporter of high-quality work. Your knowledge and drive will be key to pushing our technology forward and creating better, data-driven experiences at Capital One.
