Position Description:
We are recruiting operationally savvy developers to join our front office technology team. The group consists of versatile full stack engineers who will act as Site Reliability Engineers. The team exists in the space between traditional systems administration and development - providing continual improvement and automation of our technology platforms and reduced operational friction for our teams, users and development partners.
Duties will include:
- Incorporating AI solutions to collect and share data throughout the firm as well as scale team capacity / efficiency / improve platform uptime
- Automating and improving our Incident, Problem and Change processes
- Building telemetry and observability solutions
- Automating complex workflows
- Analyze effort patterns (user queries, service requests, incidents, workflows) for optimization and toil reduction
- Plan, lead, supervise and optimize the production related software and infrastructure for capacity and resiliency
- Rationalize tooling portfolio - retiring legacy tooling, determining build vs buy
- Tight collaboration with development, infrastructure and third-party vendor teams
- Management of a team of developers located in both the US and Offshore
Position Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional experience working in support of a trading business / within a financial services company preferred
- Experience in leading a support, development or SRE team. Ability to organize workloads and objectives via Agile/Lean methodologies (ex-sprint planning), coaching and development (including across regions), communicating across technology and business silos (including senior leadership)
- Strong focus on automation of routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention. Ability to leverage new and novel approaches to solve "difficult" or long-standing problems.
- Experience with scripting / coding / software development in at least one major language. Python and/or Java experience preferred - but C, C#, C++, or any major language is acceptable. Experience designing, coding, testing, and delivering software
- Familiar with modern development practices - AI assisted coding (GitHub Copilot, Cursor or similar), Pair/Mob programing ("vibe coding"), Version Control (Git proficiency and understanding of collaborative workflows), Test driven code (automated testing) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
- Type script experience (understanding of type systems and modern JavaScript and TypeScript patterns.
- React development - experience building components-based UIs with modern React patterns (hooks, context, etc.)
- Strong focus on automation of routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention
- Proficiency with any major RDBMS (ex: Oracle, Snowflake, PostgreSQL) - comfortable writing queries, understanding indexes and basic database design
- Basic Terraform knowledge (ability to read and write infrastructure as code for common cloud resources)
- System and network administration and troubleshooting skills (Unix and Windows), cloud related technologies (Kubernetes, AWS, Azure), and knowledge of infrastructure components (e.g. routers, load balancers, compute, storage, and networks)
- Proven expertise in troubleshooting complex technical issues, managing incidents end-to-end, and implementing robust problem resolution strategies in a high-pressure trading environment.
- Understanding of ITIL concepts (Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration management)
- Systematic, fact-based decision making and problem solving.
- Strong curiosity and bias for proactive planning, action, ownership, learning and continuous improvement.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to nurture relationships with all internal/external partners, promoting diversity of perspectives, ideas and culture
Salary Range: $ 150,000.00 - $ 240,000.00
