Day - 08 Hour (United States of America) This is a Stanford Health Care job. A Brief Overview The Manager - Organ Procurement provides leadership for the organ procurement program under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services (Solid Organ Transplant DSL). This role is responsible for developing and implementing performance excellence within organ donation, procurement, and transplantation. With focus on aligning processes, interdepartmental collaboration, identifying opportunities for improvement, and building sustainable frameworks for improved communication and efficiency. This role oversees both adult and pediatric solid organ procurement for SHC and SCH. Locations Stanford Health Care What you will do
  • Performs management functions by interviewing and hiring staff members; providing and/or arranging training; evaluating performance; and recommending or initiating personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, merit salary increases or disciplinary action to ensure adequate and competent staffing as well as initiating or recommending responses to employee grievances.
  • Strategically assesses the effectiveness of the Organ Procurement Program in achieving organization objectives; identifies best practices and benchmarks; and develops recommendations for modifications to align to strategy and business goals.
  • Sets priorities for the Organ Procurement Program. Manages and allocates resources to align with business objectives. Leads delivery of program objectives and develops related policies and plans. Leads and drives cross-organization business and process improvements.
  • Serves as intermediary between internal and external key stakeholders and hospital administration to facilitate new and existing program growth consistent with core hospital goals and strategic initiatives.
  • Monitors program efficiency and implements methods to establish program accountability and measure success; revises processes and procedures to improve program effectiveness.
  • Analyzes current processes and develops workflows to improve transplant organ team efficiency. Conducts data analysis to identify areas of improvement for organ allocation and organ procurement finances. Executes improvements to operating policies and procedures for the program to drive business, quality, service, and process improvements. Designs repeatable processes and workflows to scale program's capability and efficiency.
  • Analyzes and assesses data to optimize the effectiveness of current transplant logistics, organ specific acquisition costs, and costs related to procurements, staffing, and materials.
  • Manages the organ procurement through to the transplant process, patient satisfaction and concerns, electronic and medical documentation requirements and accuracy. Ensures that patients receive safe, quality care in an efficient and customer-centric manner through alignment with established policies, procedures, protocols, workflows, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identifies and finds solutions for issues related to transplant logistics, materials and supplies, OPO-to-transplant center cross functional communications, and internal transplant teams' communications (multidisciplinary).
  • Responsible for research and promotion of projects pertaining to organ transplant. Projects such as improving the allocation systems, optimizing donor-recipient compatibility, prevent organ wastage, and other special projects to propel organ placement.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of operating budgets and management decision making of overall resource requirements (e.g., people, systems, and equipment).
Education Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a work-related field/discipline from an accredited college or university
Experience Qualifications
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
  • Minimum one year of supervisory experience preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of thoracic organs, organ recovery, preservation, and packaging standards and practices.
  • Knowledge of the critical and time sensitive issues that arise with organ procurement and retrieval.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to organs.
  • Knowledge of the protocols pertaining to organ retrieval.
  • Knowledge of billing standards and requirements for organ retrieval.
  • Knowledge of organ transplant regulations and acceptance policies.
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements related to areas of functional responsibility.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of organization, administration, fiscal and personnel management.
  • Knowledge of the marketing and business development design principles, program development, assessment methodologies and metrics.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple complex transplant related processes.
  • Ability to think quickly and critically in organ transplant related areas and adapt to extenuating circumstances when organs become available.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships and build consensus.
  • Ability to mediate and resolve complex problems and issues.
  • Ability to provide leadership and influence others.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $60.92 - $80.73 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
