About This Role

Our team is looking for highly motivated and creative candidates who will lead efforts in improving therapeutics with microgravity. This is an opportunity in an exciting area of growth for Varda, the role will shape Varda's culture and will play a significant role in establishing the low earth orbit economy.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead for pharmaceutical development projects
• The candidate will be responsible for supporting drug substance development including characterization of materials, crystallization screening and early-stage process characterization
• Responsibilities include design, planning, and hands-on execution of laboratory studies
• Drug substance characterization spans solid-state, physicochemical, and particle analysis
• Collaborate with process engineers and analytical development scientists

Basic Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree in materials science, chemical engineering, organic chemistry, biochemistry with 3+ years of industry experience or M.S. degree in related field with 6+ years of industry experience
• Experienced in drug substance development of small molecules (solvent screen, form screening and selection, stability studies)

Preferred Skills And Experience

• Ph.D. degree in materials science, chemical engineering, organic chemistry, biochemistry with 5+ years of industry experience
• Experience with cradle-to-crave development from early R&D through commercialization
• Demonstrated expertise in small molecule crystallography, including structural determination

Pay Range

• Salary Range: $140,000.00 - $180,000.00/per year
• This role is on-sitein El Segundo, CA
• Leveling and base salary is determined by job-related skills, education level, experience level, and job performance
• You will be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of stock options and/or long-term cash awards
