Transportation Coordinator - 2nd Shift

About the Opportunity

The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and facilitating transportation scheduling to support/execute daily operations. This includes, but is not limited to order booking by region, maximizing truck utilization, on time performance, coordinating rejections, monitoring of specific loads, provide high-level customer service to internal/external parties, and supporting the transportation department.

Responsibilities

• Daily vendor management of both brokers and asset base carriers throughout the continental US, Canada and Mexico.
• Communicate extensively and work collaboratively with the Sales Department, Product Planning Department, Distribution Centers, Third-Party facilities, Customers, and Carriers to facilitate the following: timely booking of loads; maximizing truck utilization, route guide, and performance metrics (on time pick up, delivery and cold chain).
• Work with customer’s buyer and receiving facility to ensure timely communication of order status
• Timely and accurate processing of rejections and carrier claims
• Complete tasks and projects in an accurate, timely and efficient manner
• Support the transportation needs of the growers from all growing areas as required Manage Track & Trace reporting and provide results to Driscoll’s, Customers, and Carriers
• Follow Company policies and practices while representing Driscoll’s in an ethical and professional manner in all interactions with fellow employees, Customers, Carriers, Growers, Vendors and Government Agencies.

Candidate Profile

IMPORTANT :

• This position requires on-site work at our Watsonville, California office. Remote work is not available. Applicants must reside within a commutable distance or be willing to relocate independently.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain/ Logistics or relevant years of experience, preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively at multiple levels both inside and outside of the organization
• Possess an understanding of basic receiving, shipping and transportation operations
• Committed to meeting the expectations and needs of both internal and external customers
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced and collaborative environment with a diverse group of individuals
• Ability to build constructive and effective relationships
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively and quickly
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook
• Preferred experience in the use of Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
• Flexible and dependable with work schedule, including on-call shift (nights and weekends), holidays, overtime, and occasional domestic travel
• Dedicated to meeting the expectations and needs of both internal and external customers
• Possess a thorough understanding of transportation finance, operations, internal systems and network functions 
• Complete tasks and projects in an accurate, timely, and efficient manner

Compensation & Benefits:
The following information is provided in good faith as a general description of the salary range and benefits for the position posted. The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate is dependent upon experience, skills, education, work location, internal pay equity, and other objective job-related factors.
The U.S. estimated annual salary range for this role is: $46,550 to $57,024
