Rosewood Miramar Beach, a Rosewood Hotel and The Manor Bar, is looking for an exceptional and extraordinary Afternoon Tea Server. The Afternoon Tea Server is responsible for delivering an elevated, ritual-driven tea experience that reflects Rosewood’s standards of luxury, storytelling, and refined hospitality. This role transcends traditional table service. The Server curates a journey - guiding guests through traditional and contemporary tea rituals with precision brewing technique, thoughtful tier progression, elegant pacing, and personalized engagement. Every interaction should embody grace, confidence, and emotional intelligence, ensuring that each guest feels both cared for and connected.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Luxury Experience Delivery:

  • Curate and guide guests through the full Afternoon Tea journey, including tea selection, storytelling, flavor explanation, and thoughtful pairing recommendations.
  • Deliver traditional and contemporary tea service according to established standards, including precise water temperature, steeping time, and presentation technique.
  • Orchestrate seamless pacing of the experience, including coordinated tier sequencing, replenishments, and discreet table maintenance.
  • Manage the timing of tea infusions, pours, and tier progression to ensure the experience flows seamlessly without interruption or guest waiting.
  • Anticipate guest needs and preferences through observation and refined service awareness.
  • Maintain an elegant, calm, and confident presence throughout service.
  • Uphold Rosewood, LQA, Forbes-level standards of anticipatory, personalized hospitality at all times.

Product & Technical Expertise:

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of:
  • Tea varieties, origins, flavor profiles, caffeine levels, and brewing standards
  • Afternoon Tea menu offerings including finger sandwiches, scones, pastries, and seasonal variations
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, prices, preparation method/time, major ingredients and quality standards of taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, portion size, garnish, and method of presentation.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of allergens and dietary modifications; communicate clearly with culinary and ensure safe execution.
  • Wine, champagne, and specialty beverage offerings associated with Afternoon Tea

  • Confidently execute tableside tea preparation and presentation with precision and grace.
  • Ensure tiered stands, china, linens, and all presentation elements meet brand and visual standards.
  • Operate POS and payment systems accurately and efficiently.

Operational Excellence:

  • Complete all opening and closing side duties with attention to detail and presentation.
  • Ensure mise en place for tea service is impeccably prepared, including:
  • Teapots, strainers, timers, milk vessels, lemon presentation, and tiered stands
  • Proper polishing and staging of chinaware and silverware

  • Communicate clearly with culinary and leadership teams regarding special requests, dietary modifications, and timing needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of service stations at all times.
  • Guide and partner with Server Assistants to ensure seamless team execution.

Guest Relations & Brand Representation:

  • Maintain a warm, engaging, and refined demeanor when interacting with guests and colleagues.
  • Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally, following established service recovery procedures.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of hotel services, amenities, and local attractions when assisting guests.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador, embodying Rosewood’s culture, vision, and Relationship Hospitality philosophy.

Demonstrates refined product knowledge and storytelling ability related to tea culture and Afternoon Tea tradition.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; ability to prioritize, organize and follow through; ability to be a clear thinker, remain calm and resolve problems using good judgment
  • Ability to maintain good coordination; ability to work an 8–12-hour shift in hot, noisy and sometimes close conditions;
  • Ability to work with all products and food ingredients involved; ability to use all senses to ensure quality standards are met
  • Ability to differentiate dates; ability to operate, clean and maintain all equipment required in job functions.

Language: Required to speak, read, and write English, with fluency in other languages preferred.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to exert physical effort in transporting 20 pounds, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding.

  • Demonstrate adaptability as business levels fluctuate
  • Embrace continuous training and development to refine tea knowledge and service technique

Qualifications:

  • Diploma/Some College or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
  • Must have a current and valid Food Handler Certification.
  • Must have a current and valid Responsible Beverage Service Certification and Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Server ID.
  • Minimum 21 years of age to pour alcoholic beverages.

Experience:

  • Minimum three (3) years of service experience in a refined restaurant, luxury lounge, or hotel environment.
  • Experience in luxury Afternoon Tea, tea lounge service, or ritual-driven experiential dining strongly preferred.
  • Prior Forbes, LQA, or ultra-luxury brand exposure preferred.

The pay scale for this position is 16.90/hour plus tips. This is the pay range for this position that the Hotel reasonably expects to pay.
