Job location: Ventura, CA or Bakersfield, CA A Taste of What You'll Do Join the dynamic team at Gallo as a Market Development Manager-Malt! We are looking for a proactive and innovative individual to drive the sale and distribution of Gallo malt and RTD brands across Retail and On-Premise accounts. Your role will involve executing strategic sales and marketing plans, understanding competitive pricing structures, and identifying opportunities to maximize market presence. In this role, you will collaborate closely with distributor personnel, including representatives, district managers, and area managers, to implement monthly programs, close sales gaps, and enhance distribution points. You will strategically allocate your time and resources to the highest opportunities, balancing motivation, training, and support to achieve business objectives. Your insights into market conditions, competitive landscape, and brand performance will be crucial in shaping our sales strategies. You will also play a key role in training and coaching distributor sales teams, gathering and sharing market intelligence, and ensuring retail pricing aligns with state guidelines. Your efforts in motivating distributor teams, coordinating with Shopper Marketing, and reinforcing Gallo standards locally will be instrumental in our success. We value innovation and an entrepreneurial mindset. You will leverage technology and digital marketing programs to monitor performance, identify opportunities, and drive distributor actions. Your role will include supporting consumer engagement initiatives, making data-driven business decisions, and acting as a Gallo Ambassador through community engagement and event hosting. Building positive relationships with accounts, distributor management, and personnel is essential. You will also ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and safety regulations, and maintain responsible business expense management. What You'll Need • Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of CPG sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.• Candidate is required to have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver's license based on the position's location within 30 days of hire.
• Required to obtain liquor license as required by state/locality.
• Required to travel by air and car in order to execute job functions.
• Required to be 21 years of age or older.
• Required to travel by air and automobile up to 50% during the course of business.
• Experience demonstrating strong leadership selling, time management, public speaking skills.
• Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description. How You'll Stand Out • Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of Gallo Winery or distributor sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
