Echo Tech Job Details

• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (travel contract for cardiac sonographers)
• Location: Orange, CA 92868 (with travel to Newport Beach, Mission Viejo, and Whittier clinics)
• Start Date: August 18, 2025
• End Date: November 17, 2025
• Duration: 13-week travel assignment
• Shift: Day shift, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (5x8-hour shifts)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2820 - $2900
• Patient Population: Pediatric (inpatient and outpatient cardiology)
• Daily Caseload: 4–5 pediatric patients per session

Pediatric Echo Tech Qualifications

• At least 1 year of pediatric echocardiography experience OR 6+ months with 100% pediatric patient population
• Graduate of an accredited echocardiography program or equivalent clinical experience in pediatric or adult echo
• Current national certification required (RDCS PE, ARDMS, CCI RCCS, CCI RCS, RDCS-Peds, RCS, or RCCS)
• Active BLS certification
• Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Two recent supervisor-level references required
• Travel assignment not available to locals within 50 miles of Orange, CA

Echo Tech Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive pediatric cardiac echo studies for inpatient and outpatient pediatric populations
• Utilize advanced echocardiography modalities: 2-D, 3-D, M-Mode, Color Doppler, and Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE)
• Conduct studies on complex congenital heart conditions and post-surgical pediatric cardiac repairs
• Travel to affiliated clinics in Southern California as needed to deliver echo services
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and report findings to the Clinic Manager
• Maintain accurate electronic documentation using the Cerner system
• Follow infection control and isolation protocols as required in California healthcare settings
