INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST I- INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIVISION / SACRAMENTO HEADQUARTERS

The reporting location for this position is Headquarters in Sacramento, CA. This position will work under the direction of the IT Supervisor II in the Web, App and Data Services Section.

The incumbent performs a broad range of routine and complex web-related tasks supporting the Department's public and internal web presence, exercising sound judgment to assess, prioritize, and resolve incoming web requests and issues based on importance, urgency, and risk. Serving as a primary point of contact for web managers, web contributors, and other internal requesters, the incumbent provides technical guidance, troubleshooting support, and ad hoc training to promote compliance and build web proficiency across the Department. The incumbent uses manual inspection and automated testing tools to evaluate adherence to Departmental standards, Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), and general quality control criteria. The incumbent personally remediates non-compliant web content or creates new web content as operational needs arise. The incumbent is required to maintain a thorough understanding of Section 508 (ADA) accessibility requirements and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, or the most current applicable standards. All web development work must meet compliance requirements, and the incumbent is expected to proactively identify and remediate accessibility issues throughout the development lifecycle.

This position is designated as telework eligible-office centered.

1. Please describe your experience managing an enterprise level public website as well as your experience with Section 508 (ADA) accessibility requirements and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Include your accessibility remediation process and the main challenges faced.
