Job Description and Duties

CDFW is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual interested in providing leadership to all aspects and activities for the departments mobile and telecommunications services for CDFW's IT Managed Services & Operational Support Unit. The mission of the CDFW is to manage California's diverse fish, wildlife, and plant resources, and the habitats upon which they depend, for their ecological value.

Under the general direction of the Information Technology Operations Branch Chief (IT Manager I), the incumbent supervises the IT Managed Services & Operational Support Unit. The supervisor is responsible for the unit’s technical work and provides leadership, staff supervision, work assignment oversight, and technical guidance to ensure efficient and effective service delivery. The unit leads all departmental mobile and telecommunications services and provides IT services supporting a highly complex, statewide infrastructure, as well as all CDFW enterprise applications and productivity services. The incumbent is expected to demonstrate expert-level knowledge of IT operational services, concepts, practices, methods, and principles to support the department’s IT operations.

Working Conditions

This position is headquartered in the CDFW Data and Technology Division office, downtown Sacramento. The incumbent will be required to commute to the headquartered location per the ongoing regular schedule. The duties of this position are primarily conducted indoors in a professional office environment, in a climate-controlled cubicle which may fluctuate in temperature and is under artificial light. The position involves sitting most of the time but may require walking or standing, required to use a computer, mouse, keyboard, and will be required to sit for long periods of time at a computer screen. Must be able to focus for long periods of time, multi-task, adapt to changes in priorities and complete tasks or projects with short notice. Occasional travel up to 5% may be required via private or public transportation.
