Staff Accountant
Bay East Association of REALTORS® is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to manage accounts payable, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have an accounting degree, strong Excel skills (including VLOOKUP and pivot tables), and a minimum of 1–2 years professional experience. Experience with QuickBooks or Microsoft GP is a plus, but not required.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
Accounts Payable
- Review vendor invoices to ensure accuracy, proper coding and alignment with the approved budget.
- Provide support in resolving invoice discrepancies or payment issues.
- Verify and approve new vendor accounts and EFT set up (electronic funds transfer) details.
- Upload EFT transactions to the bank portal.
- Review backup documentation and coding, and upload credit card statements to GP
- Generate and distribute 1099 forms annually.
Reconciliations and Reports
- Process credit card transactions ensuring they are within budget.
- Generate SQL based reports and create the monthly stats; utilize the data to review and approve monthly stats.
- Generate the Department of Real Estate (DRE) report semi-monthly; identify discrepancies in last names, DRE issuance and expiration dates.
- Assist staff with Excel analysis as needed.
- Reconcile and process the Sales Tax Returns.
Financials
- Foundation
- Prepare the monthly financial statements and analysis for the Bay East Foundation.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget.
- File the annual Raffle License and related reports for the Bay East Foundation.
- Marketing Groups
- Reconcile bank statements.
- Prepare financials statements.
- Reconcile group reserves.
- Assist with the preparation of the annual budget.
- Reconcile bank statements.
Hybrid position - minimum of 4 days in the office.
