Summary

Responsible for testing and inspecting products at various stages of the production process to ensure quality and reliability. Supports quality-related initiatives and special projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Casting Inspections

• Conduct hydrogen content inspections during casting in accordance with established procedures
• Perform in-process inspections at critical points to assess product quality
• Monitor and manage proper labeling and handling of quarantined materials

Chemical Composition Analysis

• Operate and maintain spectrometers following standard operating procedures
• Prepare and machine samples for chemical analysis
• Analyze molten metal and scrap samples
• Maintain inventory of standard samples and update calibration values
• Perform precision and accuracy checks on spectrometry equipment
• Ensure cleanliness and control of the spectrometer environment

Additional Duties

• Conduct daily water quality checks for cooling systems and city water
• Store and organize chemistry samples and heat sheets
• Perform hardness testing and calibration checks on testing instruments
• Record inspection results and enter data into digital systems
• Assist with quality-related projects as assigned by management

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; technical certification or college coursework preferred
• 6–12 months of experience in quality assurance or technical inspection
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Strong near vision and ability to distinguish colors used in inspection processes

Skills & Abilities

• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and safety procedures
• Capable of writing reports and communicating effectively with teams
• Competence in basic math, geometry, and statistical concepts
• Problem-solving skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Comfortable performing routine tasks with some decision-making responsibility
