Job Description and Duties

Our Customer Education and Outreach Division (CEOD) is seeking an Analyst II within the Training Delivery team to design, develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive employer and member internal business rules and system instructor-led training for new and existing CEOD and Customer Experience Division (CXD) team members.

Under the direction of a Supervisor I (Sup I), the Analyst II is responsible to assess training needs and deliver instructor led training, which includes myCalPERS system functions and usage, retirement program, health program, and all other CalPERS administrative program responsibilities laws, policies, procedures, and processes including Public Employees’ Retirement Law (PERL) and Public Employees’ Medical and Hospital Care Act (PEMHCA).

Telework Information: This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite, per week.

Sponsorship: This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship. CalPERS does not participate in E-Verify for employment authorization purposes.

Effective July 1, 2025, The California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025). PLP 2025 directs that each employee shall receive a 3 percent reduction in pay in exchange for 5 hours PLP 2025 leave credits, monthly. The salary range(s) included in the job advertisement do not reflect the 3 percent reduction in pay.

Statement of Qualifications

  2. Describe your experience working in a high-volume, customer-focused environment.
  3. Describe your experience and skills in communication, both written and verbal, to effectively share critical and complex information clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications

All experience and education relating to the Minimum Qualifications (MQs) listed on the Classification Specification should be included in your application package to clearly demonstrate how you meet the MQs for this position. If you are using education to meet MQs, please include your transcripts with your application package. If you have a degree from outside of the United States, you must submit an evaluation of this degree to determine the US equivalency.   • Experience in developing and delivering instructor-led training, utilizing adult learning principles
  • Ability to present in front of small and large audiences
  • Experience using Zoom and Microsoft Suite applications
  • Ability to research and analyze complex information
  • Knowledge and application of the Public Employees’ Retirement Law (PERL), Public Employees’ Medical Health Care Act (PEMHCA), and myCalPERS system
