A leading university is seeking a Housing Service Center Assistant to support student housing services by administering programs, interpreting university policies, resolving complex student issues, coordinating cross-functional services, and delivering exceptional customer support in a fast-paced residential environment.
Housing Service Center Assistant Responsibilities:
- Administer student housing and related student service programs by evaluating program eligibility, interpreting university and departmental policies, resolving complex student and parent inquiries, providing guidance on housing and student services, and supporting sensitive and confidential matters with independent judgment.
- Collaborate with internal departments, external partners, and university stakeholders to resolve complex program issues, coordinate outreach initiatives, represent the department at meetings and events, track emerging student concerns, and proactively communicate solutions to improve the student experience.
- Analyze and reconcile complex transactions across multiple sources; support financial processes and budget-related activities; summarize data; prepare reports and presentations; manage technology and data needs; and ensure compliance with university policies, legal requirements, and financial regulations.
- Lead or support program development, organizational improvements, workflow enhancements, outreach efforts, business process initiatives, and university-wide projects while serving as a subject matter resource and assisting with the training or supervision of staff, volunteers, and temporary employees as needed.
- Deliver outstanding customer service by applying strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, emotional intelligence, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills to support diverse student populations while promoting inclusion, safety, and a positive residential community experience.
Housing Service Center Assistant Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 3+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience supporting student services, housing services, higher education administration, customer service, program administration, or related operational environments.
- Strong knowledge of interpreting and applying university, legal, financial, and administrative policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Experience analyzing complex data and transactions, preparing reports and presentations, supporting financial processes, budgets, and technology systems.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience using computer systems and technology to support administrative and student service operations.
- Demonstrated commitment to relationship building and providing exceptional service to students and university stakeholders.
