Estimator Underground Pipeline / Structural Concrete

Slater, Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Underground Pipeline Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating for storm drains, sewer, and water pipeline projects, with the ability to manage multiple bids, meet deadlines, and deliver accurate, competitive estimates. Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze plans, specifications, soils reports, and related documents to determine scope of work and materials required.
• Identify and pursue bid opportunities; coordinate with customers, contractors, project engineers, and homeowners.
• Develop detailed cost estimates, including labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor pricing.
• Prepare accurate take-offs and comprehensive bid packages for timely submission.
• Monitor job costs to evaluate profit margins and overhead.
• Collaborate with project managers and foremen on awarded projects, ensuring a clear understanding of scope and requirements.
• Maintain knowledge of industry standards, construction codes, and safety regulations.
• Experience estimating Structial Concrete

• Highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented with strong follow-through.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to build positive relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and customers.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction and street/drainage plans.
• In-depth knowledge of underground construction materials, methods, and cost analysis.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with construction codes, standards, and safety practices.
• Commitment to demonstrating dependability, a positive attitude, and honesty in all professional interactions.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years of experience estimating underground pipeline projects (storm drain, sewer, water).
• Proven experience in accurate take-offs and cost estimating for large-scale construction projects.
• Experience with both public and private sector bids.
• Proficiency in estimating software, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat.
