Job Description

Visa Technology & Operations LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Senior Data Engineer (multiple openings) in Foster City, CA to:

• Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture for validating and certifying payment workflows.
• Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
• Build analytics tools that utilize the data automation pipeline to provide actionable insights into payment workflow efficiency and key quality assurance metrics.
• Collaborate with senior technical staff and PM to identify, document, plan contingency, track and manage risks and issues until all are resolved.
• Present technical solutions, capabilities, considerations, and features in business terms.
• Effectively communicate status, issues, and risks in a precise and timely manner.
• Partner with Product on implementation and testing strategies.
• Work on building and maintaining data integration automation framework for B2B Connect Network.
• Work with team to partner and drive the strategies involving data and service integration with large financial institutions for competitive rate analysis and settlement data.
• Build and maintain data streaming automation framework to support B2B Connect growth.
• Analyze input Data elements across multiple sources and build Data lineage for the Liquidity Management System.
• Contribute to project planning discussions, provide status updates for development progress and be a critical resource for issue resolution.
• Position reports to the Foster City, California office and may allow for partial telecommuting.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Data Science, Cybersecurity or related field.
• Position requires experience in the following skills through academic coursework and/or work experience:
  • Computer science algorithms fundamentals;
  • Experience in at least two of the following programming languages: Java, Go, Scala, Python and/or JavaScript;
  • Working in Unix or Linux environments, Open source technologies, and client-server apps;
  • Working with multiple database models, such as Relational DBMS, Document, Columnar and Key-Value data stores;
  • Working with big data and messaging platforms: Kafka, Flink, Spark, Hadoop, and RabbitMQ;
  • Writing code in multiple programming language paradigms such as Object-Oriented and Functional Programming Languages; and
  • Quality assurance processes and methodologies with a quality-first attitude.

Additional Information

Worksite: Foster City, CA

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Travel Requirements: This position does not require travel.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $143,790.00 to $200,500.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
