Position Summary: Based in Santa Fe Springs, CA, the Pyrometry Technician C will perform essential job functions associated with heat treatment under the direction of the Quality Manager to meet customer specifications including assisting other employees as needed.

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities):
The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

• Performs temperature uniformity surveys, instrument calibration, and system accuracy checks as directed.
• Completes pyrometry documentation.
• Bring any irregularities, discrepancies, or concerns to the supervisor immediately.
• Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.
• Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
• This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customers’ inventory and, as such, will perform duties safely and responsibly to prevent customer loss or damage.
• Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.

• This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; therefore, candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident cardholders.
• Education – High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Minimum six months of experience in thermal processing.
• Experience with the BQS, AMS 2750, and customer pyrometry specifications is desirable.
• Minimum of 20 classroom training hours and 80 on-the-job training hours specific to pyrometry.
• On-the-job experience may be used in lieu of training under certain conditions.
• A written test is required to demonstrate proficiency.
• Must have knowledge by experience or training of basic math.
• Must be precise and detail-oriented.
• May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.
• Must be willing to travel to various plants within the region assigned.
• Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience of computer applications, including Microsoft Office and databases, are required.

• Must be able to work in a sitting and/or standing position for extended periods in an industrial environment.
• Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
• Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
• Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
• Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
• Ability to hear in person and via phone.
