Business Development Manager – Food Ingredients (Xanthan Gum)
Location: Remote (U.S.)
Territory: Eastern United States
Travel: Periodic travel to company headquarters
Compensation: $100,000 – $180,000 (80% Base Salary + 20% Performance-Based Bonus)
About the Company
International Recruiting LLC is assisting our client with the search for a Business Development Manager focused on food ingredients and xanthan gum sales. It is one of the world's largest manufacturers of fermentation-based ingredients and a global leader in xanthan gum production. Fufeng supplies customers across the food & beverage, nutrition, pharmaceutical, and industrial sectors through an extensive global manufacturing and distribution network.
As the company continues to expand its direct commercial presence in North America, they are seeking an experienced sales professional to accelerate growth across the Eastern United States.
Position Summary
This is a remote, customer-facing sales position responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding market share for xanthan gum and related food ingredient products throughout the Eastern United States.
The successful candidate will focus on new business development, strategic account management, distributor relationships, and market expansion. While the position is fully remote, regular travel throughout the territory and periodic visits to company offices for meetings, training, and business reviews are expected.
Key Responsibilities
Develop new business opportunities and expand market share for xanthan gum and related food ingredient products throughout the Eastern U.S.
Build and maintain relationships with food manufacturers, ingredient distributors, and strategic accounts.
Identify customer needs and develop tailored commercial solutions.
Lead pricing discussions, contract negotiations, and sales closing activities.
Manage and grow existing accounts while pursuing new customer acquisition opportunities.
Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements to identify growth opportunities.
Coordinate closely with supply chain, logistics, customer service, and operations teams to ensure successful order fulfillment.
Manage accounts receivable and support payment collection efforts when necessary.
Achieve or exceed annual sales, margin, and growth objectives.
Qualifications
Required
5+ years of sales or business development experience in food ingredients, food additives, specialty ingredients, hydrocolloids, or related industries.
Demonstrated success in new business development and account management.
Strong understanding of B2B sales processes and commercial negotiations.
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Willingness to travel extensively within the Eastern U.S. territory.
Preferred
Direct experience with xanthan gum, hydrocolloids, stabilizers, thickeners, or functional food ingredients.
Existing relationships with food manufacturers, ingredient distributors, beverage companies, sauce and dressing manufacturers, bakery, dairy, or related customers.
