Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Advanced Weapons has an opening for a Staff Embedded Software Engineer (IPT Lead) with an active clearance , to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Northridge, CA.
The IPT Lead reports to the Advanced Weapons Chief Engineer and is responsible for leading multiple software teams for development activities.
As an integral part of our multi-discipline engineering team in Advanced Weapons, you will be on the forefront of developing next generation solutions to protect technology for our nation’s warfighters. The ideal candidate will be supporting one of our programs for defining and architecting a secured missile weapon system. This position will require close collaboration with team members of other projects within the organization for security architecture designs as well as external partners and customers.
Roles and responsibilities:
Lead engineering teams supporting Flight Software, DevOps, Software Architects, Engineering tools, and Ground Support Equipment Software.
Manage the entire Software development efforts.
Plan, organize, and manage technical activities.
Serve as a Cost Account Management (CAM) and present to senior-level management on cost, schedule, and technical risks and opportunities.
Perform integration and development hardware systems.
Promote a collaborative environment between different disciplines and organizations resulting in teams that can effectively solve problems as the arise and proactively prevent things from becoming issues.
Relocation assistance, while not guaranteed, may be available.
The selected candidate for this position is required to be on-site in Northridge, CA.
Basic qualifications for a Staff Embedded Software Engineer level (T05):
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 12 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 8 years of related engineering experience.
Experience leading an engineering team of 30 or more.
Cost Account Management (CAM) & EVMS duties and responsibilities.
Risk/Opportunity/Issue management experience related to complex hardware and software subsystems.
Experience with integration of electronics into a system of systems.
Active DOD Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ability to obtain an SAP clearance.
Experience with complex issue resolution with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience with Flight Software.
Extensive experience with software and system architecture.
