Quality Assurance Analyst (Automation-Focused)
Stanbridge University is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst (Automation-Focused) with hands-on test automation experience to ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of our in-house Learning Management System (LMS) and supporting services.
This is an automation-first role requiring practical experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks in modern web applications. The ideal candidate can independently design, implement, and maintain automated test suites while collaborating closely with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality software delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain automated test suites using Pest 4, PHPUnit, or comparable frameworks.
- Develop and maintain regression and integration test coverage across web and mobile LMS environments.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and analyze build results to ensure stability and reliability.
- Collaborate with developers to document, reproduce, debug, and verify defect resolutions.
- Define automation strategy for high-risk and high-value workflows.
- Write maintainable, reusable, and scalable test code aligned with industry best practices.
- Participate in sprint planning by providing automation effort estimates and identifying technical risks.
- Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards and OWASP security considerations.
- Monitor automated test execution metrics and contribute to improving QA tooling, coverage reporting, and process maturity.
- Perform manual exploratory testing when validating new features as needed; however, the primary focus of this role is automation development.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2–4 years of hands-on professional test automation development experience.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining automated tests using Playwright, Pest, PHPUnit, Cypress, Selenium, or similar frameworks.
- Experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or comparable tools).
- Strong understanding of:
- Automated regression strategy
- Test design patterns
- Flaky test debugging and stabilization
- CI pipeline diagnostics
- Working knowledge of JavaScript and/or PHP.
- Familiarity with REST API testing and data validation.
- Proficiency with Git, including branching strategies and pull request workflows.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience testing LMS, CMS, or other education-technology platforms.
- Exposure to Laravel and VueJS environments.
- Performance or load testing experience (JMeter, Gatling, or similar tools).
- Experience with mobile automation frameworks (Appium).
- Basic SQL proficiency for data validation and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

- $52,000–$59,000/yr. Compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and internal equity considerations.
