Job Summary

The RN – Labor & Delivery will provide comprehensive nursing care to mothers during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period. The nurse will monitor maternal and fetal conditions, assist physicians during delivery procedures, and ensure safe, high-quality care for both mother and newborn. The role requires strong clinical judgment and the ability to manage high-risk obstetric cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery.

• Monitor fetal heart rate patterns, contractions, and maternal vital signs.

• Assist physicians and healthcare providers during labor and delivery procedures.

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.

• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, and newborn care.

• Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent full-time Labor & Delivery experience within the last 3 years

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in the state of California

• Basic Life Support (BLS)

• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

• ACLS Certification

• AWHONN Certification
