Little Mountain reflects Montecito’s coastal culture through a wood-fired kitchen that highlights the region’s seasonal bounty. Rooted in Santa Barbara County’s abundance, we collaborate with local farmers, ranchers, and fishermen to source organic and biodynamic ingredients, enhancing their natural qualities through traditional techniques. Our hospitality extends to a warm, home-like setting inspired by Spanish Colonial design, complemented by a thoughtful beverage program featuring high-quality, small-producer spirits. Whether for a casual evening or a festive gathering, we welcome our Upper Village community with inviting, intentional hospitality.
JOB SUMMARY
Little Mountain is looking for exceptional Servers who are passionate about food, wine, and creating unforgettable guest experiences. This role requires a balance of elegance, attentiveness, and precision to deliver a high-level service. The Server will guide guests through a thoughtful dining experience, mastering the art of storytelling and connection while showcasing the best of Little Mountain’s menu and wine program.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Provide warm, attentive, and detail-oriented service to every guest.
- Memorize and effectively communicate all menu offerings, including ingredients, preparation, dietary restrictions, and beverage program.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and front-of-house team to ensure a seamless dining experience.
- Anticipate guest needs and personalize interactions to elevate their experience.
- Assist in opening and closing duties, including setup, breakdown, and cleanliness of the dining room.
- Maintain compliance with all health and safety standards.
- Participates in training and educational opportunities that develop an understanding of restaurant menus and operations.
- Support additional front-of-house projects as needed.

HEALTH & SAFETY
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards, including food safety, sanitation, and workplace hygiene, in line with California Department of Health guidelines.
- Must maintain active California RBS certification and proper handling and storage of all alcoholic beverages.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a server in upscale or fine dining environments.
- Knowledge of food, wine, and beverage pairings.
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
- Experience in elevated dining or Michelin-starred environments is highly preferred but not required.
- Advanced wine knowledge or certifications such as WSET is a plus; knowledge of sustainable and local beverage sourcing is a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Involves standing and walking the entire shift.
- Requires using hands to perform daily tasks.
- Involves frequent reaching, bending, and lifting.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly during the shift.
