Quality Control Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a Quality Control Technician for a contract/temporary opportunity in Fremont, CA within a manufacturing quality environment. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented quality professional who enjoys hands-on inspection work, reading engineering drawings, using measuring tools, and helping ensure products meet customer and internal quality standards.

The Quality Control Technician will support incoming, in-process, and outgoing inspections while partnering closely with production, warehouse, and quality team members. Key Responsibilities

- Perform incoming inspections and accurately receive parts into the warehouse using SAP Business One.
- Conduct in-process and outgoing inspections, including visual, mechanical, and basic electrical checks.
- Verify measurements, labeling, material certifications, and customer quality requirements before product release.
- Prepare and submit First Article Inspection Reports through customer-specific portals as required.
- Locate, review, prioritize, and close out job bags in alignment with production schedules.
- Troubleshoot quality issues using sound judgment, independent problem-solving, and supervisor guidance.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay Rate: $28.00 to $30.00 per hour.
- Job Type: Contract/Temporary.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
- FLSA Status: Non-Exempt.
- Location: Fremont, CA.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Perform first-piece, incoming, in-process, and outgoing product inspections.
- Prepare and submit customer First Article Inspection Reports.
- Review job bags, inspection requirements, material certifications, and customer specifications.
- Support quality compliance within a manufacturing, production, and warehouse environment.

- Minimum of two years of experience in a quality-related role.
- Experience using measuring tools is required.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is required.
- Mechanical literacy and ability to perform visual, mechanical, and basic electrical checks.
- Strong attention to detail in a deadline-driven manufacturing environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid computer and office software skills.
- Ability to use sound judgment, troubleshoot issues, and work in a solution-focused manner.
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and changing production needs.
- Disciplined problem-solving skills, including familiarity with root cause analysis methods such as 8D and 5 Why.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and occasionally move around office, production, or warehouse areas.

Preferred Qualifications

- Associate degree in Engineering.
- ISO 9001 Certification.
- Experience with SAP Business One.
- Experience with lean manufacturing practices.
- Experience submitting FAIRs through customer portals.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing quality control or quality assurance environment.
