Shipping/Receiving Lead

On behalf of a top-tier luxury stone and surface distributor, we are seeking a focused Shipping & Receiving Lead for their Palo Alto facility. This is a functional, lead-level role responsible for managing domestic freight (LTL and FTL) while guiding a small team of 3–4 logistics associates.

This role bypasses the headache of international customs and carrier rate negotiations—focusing instead on accurate staging, physical loading/unloading, and seamless system tracking. Qualifications:

• Experience: 2–3 years of shipping and receiving experience, ideally within an industrial, building materials, or heavy-product environment.

• Logistics Knowledge: Solid understanding of domestic freight, freight staging, and FTL/LTL processes (no international freight required).

• Software: Computer skills with SAP experience preferred (or experience with a similar major ERP system).

• Leadership Style: A grounded, practical leader who enjoys being physically involved in the day-to-day work while keeping the team on track.

Responsibilities

• Team Guidance: Oversee and work alongside a tight-knit team of 3–4 shipping/receiving associates to ensure accurate order fulfillment.

• Domestic Logistics: Coordinate all inbound and outbound Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) and Full-Truckload (FTL) shipments.

• Physical & Digital Tracking: Balance the physical loading/unloading of stone materials with light administrative logging and order verification.

• System Management: Utilize the inventory system ( SAP ) to track shipments, print manifests, and log incoming materials.

The essential functions of this role include:
