Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Director of the Planning, Project Oversight and Risk Management Bureau, the incumbent supervises staff in the Project Oversight and Guidance (POG) Unit. The incumbent is responsible for contributing to the success of the department's IT projects by providing oversight, guidance and support for project managers, study teams and executive management. The incumbent will provide guidance and direction on the California Department of Technology's project approval processes. The incumbent provides assistance in a variety of the most complex analysis and coordination functions relative to project oversight and guidance for the department's larger and critical Information Technology (IT)projects. Incumbent acts as a liaison for external control agencies including Government Operations Agency, Department of Finance and the California Department of Technology. Incumbent is also responsible for presenting findings and recommendations to Franchise Tax Board (FTB)'s Governance Council, Action Committees and management. This position performs functions that fall within the Information Technology domain of IT Project Management.

Working Conditions

  • This position is eligible for limited remote working within California based on departmental guidelines and operational need. FTB has a minimum in-office requirement of two days per week for all positions including those that are eligible for telework. This is subject to change.
