Supervisor I
Job Description and Duties
Under the general direction of the Senior Compliance Program Managers, (Supervisor IIs), with the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee, Compliance Section. The Supervisor I is responsible for implementing administrative procedures for compliance monitoring of low-income housing tax credits in accordance with federal and state laws, the Qualified Allocation Plan and Committee regulations, and oversee the functions of the compliance monitoring staff in reviewing all multi-family rental housing projects funded with Low Income Housing Tax Credits. The Supervisor I supervises, trains, assigns work and directs the day-to-day activities of subordinate staff.

- Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service while effectively de-escalating difficult or emotionally charged situations
- Knowledge of the Federal and State tax credit program and other local, state, or federal housing programs
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, verbally and in writing with a variety of individuals
- Ability to analyze complex and sensitive management issues and recommend solutions
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to set priorities, resolve issues, and work well under pressure within specific timelines and deadlines
- Ability to lead, supervise, train, appraise, and discipline staff
- Strong interpersonal skills to deal effectively with difficult, sensitive, and confidential matters
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Ability to orally present subject matter program policies and regulations at various meetings, trainings, and conferences
- Willingness to potentially travel throughout California at least 10% of the time

Minimum Qualifications
Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If you are meeting Minimum Qualifications with education, you must include your unofficial transcripts/diploma for verification in your application packet. Official sealed transcripts or your original diploma (with embossed seal) will be required prior to appointment. If it is determined that a candidate does not meet all Minimum Qualifications, the candidate will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the classification. All candidates who are determined to not meet the Minimum Qualifications will be contacted in writing and will have 10 business days to respond with additional information supporting their Minimum Qualifications for the classification. Candidates who have been withheld may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board.
