Job Summary:
The Floor Supervisor supports daily restaurant operations by overseeing service on the floor, leading line-level staff, ensuring high-quality guest experiences, and upholding service and cleanliness standards. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. The Floor Supervisor works in close collaboration with the Restaurant Manager and will remain highly visible on the floor, actively overseeing service and interacting with guests throughout the shift. Basic computer proficiency is required, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and the ability to view, complete, and send PDF documents.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Actively supervises front-of-house team during service to ensure smooth execution and exceptional guest service.
2. Demonstrates the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
3. Assists in evaluating staffing levels during the shift and communicates with the manager regarding coverage needs or labor adjustments.
4. Supports the Restaurant Manager by ensuring team members are clocked in and out accurately, and that timecards are reviewed and updated at the end of each shift.
5. Partners with kitchen and service teams to ensure guest expectations are exceeded and all service standards are met.
6. Leads daily pre-shift meetings to communicate service goals, menu changes, and special events.
7. Provides real-time coaching and guidance to team members during service, and reports performance issues to the manager.
8. Handles guest concerns or complaints in a gracious and professional manner, escalating issues to management when needed.
9. Assists with executing large parties, private events, or special functions, ensuring smooth coordination between FOH and BOH.
10. Supports training and onboarding of new staff by modeling service excellence and department standards.

Essential Work Skills and Abilities:

1. Strong leadership presence on the floor, maintaining composure and professionalism in all situations.
2. Ability to deliver and uphold 5-star service standards, anticipating guest needs and creating memorable dining experiences.
3. Thorough knowledge of food and beverage offerings, including preparation methods, wine, and spirits.
4. Comfortable directing service flow and adapting to the needs of the dining room in real-time.
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with both guests and team members.
6. Professional appearance and conduct required at all times.
7. Demonstrates teamwork by supporting other F&B departments as needed.
8. Responsible for cash handling at end-of-shift: closing servers, reconciling checkouts, and ensuring accuracy of transactions.
9. Supports upkeep and updates in POS (e.g., item availability, menu changes) as directed by management.
10. Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum 1 year of experience in a supervisory or lead role in a high-volume restaurant or hotel setting.
2. Working knowledge of front-of-house operations, guest service standards, and basic restaurant financials.
3. Familiarity with POS systems (e.g., Micros), timekeeping systems, and basic office software.
4. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
5. Must be flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the business.
6. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and meet all local employment requirements.
7. Must have High School Diploma or GED.
8. Must be 21 years or older.
