We are seeking dedicated and skilled Line Cooks/Prep Cooks to join our culinary team. The ideal candidates will have a passion for food preparation and an understanding of kitchen operations. These roles are essential in ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall dining experience we provide to our guests. Hana Hawaiian BBQ is a local, family-owned, single-location fast casual restaurant serving the San Bruno downtown community. We are looking for two line/prep cooks who will work with the chef to maintain stock and prepare orders.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene, including proper food handling techniques.
- Collaborate with Front of House to accommodate special dietary requests.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other food preparation tools.
- Ensure all food items are prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of ingredients.
- Assist in inventory management by tracking supplies and notifying management when stock is low.
Experience
- Previous experience in food preparation or cooking within a restaurant or food service environment is required.
- Familiarity with dietary aide responsibilities is a plus.
- Knowledge of food handling regulations and safety practices is essential.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining quality standards.
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques are highly desirable.
- A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills is essential for success in this role.
- Must be comfortable de-boning chicken thighs, and de-veining shrimp.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be comfortable running and organizing a flat-top grill during service, and cleaning a flat-top grill at end of service.
