Job Description and Duties

Under general supervision of the Information Technology Supervisor l, the Information Technology Associate performs a variety of recurring, well-defined tasks requiring occasional innovative problem solving with guidelines for the Department of State Hospitals (DSH).

The primary duties of the IT Associate lie within the Client Services domain of the IT Associate classification. This includes elements such as the full lifecycle of end-user device solutions including evaluation, configuration, provisioning, training, security, tracking, and support for an end-user computing environment.

Working Conditions

• This position reports to the Napa State Hospital in Napa County. A hybrid Telework schedule, consistent with the State of California's in-office requirement, may be considered with prior approval from management.
• Regular and consistent attendance is critical to the successful performance of this position due to the heavy workload and time-sensitive nature of the work. The incumbent routinely works with and is exposed to sensitive and confidential issues and/or materials and is expected to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  
• The incumbent may also be required to travel throughout California as needed, with prior notice. The State’s Commute Programs provide bicycle, mass transit and vanpool incentives to eligible state employees. The State’s mass transit incentive pays 100% of the transit pass up to the IRS maximum of $340 per month in 2026.

Statement of Qualifications

A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required and must be submitted along with your State application.
