Project Accountant
PBS Engineers – Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Consulting Engineers

PBS Engineers, Inc. (PBS) is a leading MEP design engineering firm with over 75 professionals offering exceptional Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing engineering services from 5 offices in Southern California and 1 office in Houston, Texas. PBS provides planning, design, and project coordination services for a variety of aviation/transportation, institutional, private, commercial, and residential development projects, as well as municipal projects. Position Summary
PBS is seeking a full-time Project Accountant at our corporate office in San Dimas, CA. The potential candidate will be part of the team responsible for generating the company’s monthly billing as per client requirements, and maintaining accounts receivables/collections, project creation & budgets, and project documentation (contracts, addenda, amendments, etc.).
Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Prepare and submit monthly invoices for fixed fee, lump sum, and hourly (time and material) contracts, per client requirements.
- Investigate and resolve billing issues.
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure projects are:
- Updated with accurate information.
- Billed accurately and on time.
- Create and maintain project records in the network drive and accounting ERP system such as updating client contract information, updating budgets/work breakdown structures, and documenting critical project notes.
- Review project contracts for compliance, modifications, and billing requirements.
- Perform routine monthly collection efforts and follow-ups.
- Assist with scanning and filing cash receipt back-up documents.
- Assist with project audits and generate custom reports, as required.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including timely processing and recording of invoices, payments, and receipts..
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- At least five years’ experience in project accounting and A/P or a similar accounting role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with ERP systems in an accounting role
- Organizational skills
- Time management skills
- Complete tasks with competing deadlines
