Analyst
Newmark's West Coast Investment Sales team—led by Kevin Shannon—seeks a highly motivated and detail-oriented analyst to assist with underwriting for one of the most active investment sales platforms in the country. The team has closed over $75 billion in institutional sales and structured financings and has maintained the #1 market share for office sales in Greater Los Angeles for four consecutive years. Skills, Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related field
- Minimum of 1 - 3 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry required.
- Strong understanding of financial accounting, valuation methods, cash flow analysis, credit analysis, and real estate investment principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other real estate modeling tools a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Dedication to building a career in the real estate industry with a focus on the multifamily sector.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks, work long hours and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Energetic self-starter who is flexible, organized and conscientious.
- Knowledge of the Southen California multifamily market is a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal working conditions with the absence of disagreeable elements
Salary : $75,000 - $125,000 annually
The expected base salary for this position ranges from $75,000 to $150,000 annually. The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis taking into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, this position may be eligible for additional types of compensation including discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives (e.g., deferred cash, equity, etc.).

Key Responsibilities
- Build discounted cash flow models in ARGUS Enterprise and complete asset underwriting using Newmark's proprietary Excel models
- Analyze due diligence materials—including budgets, CAMs, financials, rent rolls, and leases—to validate assumptions and support underwriting
- Partner with brokers and clients to refine financial inputs and inform pricing recommendations
- Produce financial analyses for Broker Opinions of Value (BOVs), proposals, and Offering Memorandum materials for marketed assets
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing a high volume of institutional-quality transactions
- Collaborate with the Director of Finance and a regional analyst team to execute underwriting with precision and consistency
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of direct real estate underwriting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field
- Advanced proficiency in ARGUS Enterprise and Excel-based financial modeling
- Basic understanding of valuation, cash flow modeling, accounting, and credit fundamentals Has a desire to pursue a career in commercial real estate
